I was falling in love a a few years ago when I saw the Nikon D3000 for the first time. I could not believe how small that camera was. Even my photographer friends and my 9-year-old daughter, and they all like it very well. The reason I love the camera beside its size is the camera giving us powerful entry-level DSLRs for well under ,000.
Instead of the small size on the camera, the grip on the right side of the camera body still has sufficient thickness so that people with larger hands can feel comfortable holding these small cameras. Because of the limited space on the camera, there is no top LCD to display the frame count, aperture and shutter speed. There is also only one large LCD on the back, one command dial, and a few buttons.
Nikon D3000
This camera is completely different type of DSLR to its previous low-end offerings. It was designed specifically to be user friendly, minimalist design and a largely screen-driven interface as well as merely wallet-friendly.
The Nikon D3000 is not only inferior both in operational speed and ease of use, it also inferior in technical image quality. It does not support wireless flash control with its built-in flash, so you have to use another flash as the commander.
The D3000 are easy to use even for newest of photographers to gain entry to the DSLR game. The camera is equipped with some very automatic features such six automatic exposure modes ranging from panorama to portraits features.
Overall, Nikon D3000 is excellent and very reasonable price for family, travel and children sports photography because of the menu system has easy commands and easy to use, but not for more serious photographers.
