An In Depth Review of The Nikon D5000

If you are considering buying your first Digital SLR then the Nikon D5000 is a great camera to get started with. I bought the Nikon D5000 in July 2010 and I have been very impressed with its performance and the quality of images its capable of. If your like me and you have never used a DSLR and you've just used a point and shoot or your mobile phone, then the Nikon D5000 is a great camera if you want to take your photography to the next level and get creative.

The Nikon D5000 offers you complete manual control over your shots, but if you are just starting out there are numerous modes which you can select from, depending on the conditions and environment that you are in. This means that you can use the camera as a point and shoot to start off with and gradually move into the other modes like manual and aperture priority mode as you become more comfortable with the camera. So you do really get the best of both worlds.

I bought this camera because I was very interested in doing landscape and urban photography and you just can't do that with a point and shoot. There are many different settings which can be used and there are a numerous types of lenses that you can use, from wide angle to telephoto, macro and fisheye lenses. It all depends what subject you are shooting.
